Royals Draw even against The Seals
In their first meeting this year the Royals dominate proving why they are in first place and planed to do the same thing but the seal were determined to get back in first with a win. First Period: The Royals get on the board first on the power play for an unlikely source, Connor scores off a great point shot for his first in two years after a great d to d pass from Matt. Second Period: The Seals answer back scoring from in a wide open slot on the power play to tie the game at one goal a piece. Third Period: The Seals score again from the exact same place except this time at even strength to take the. Luckily it was short lived because two minutes later Blaise buries the rebound into the wide open net after the shot from Jordan to tie it up at 2-2. After that it was very even but great goaltending by Brandon saved the Royals as well as great penalty killing to force a final score of 2-2. Key points: The Royals penalty kill limited the Seals to only one power play goal on six attempts. Areas For Improvement: Unfortunately the Royals only scored one power play goal on eight attempts. Royals Narrowly beat Roblin Park
Already this season the Royals have tied and beaten Roblin Park but both games were very evenly match, however the Royals were determined to prove otherwise. First Period: The Royals open up the scoring after Jordan finishes off a great passing play create by himself, Kyle and Joel, However on the next faceoff Roblin Park gets it back to tie the game. With just over two minutes to go in the first Cody P. puts in the rebound after a point shot from Connor and an assist from Blaise. Second Period: The Royals catch fire scoring four straight goals in the second period and all four goals were scored by four different players, Derrick assisted by Connor and Shane, Blaise assisted by Connor and Cody, Joel assisted by Jordan and Nick and Jordan (Unassisted). Third Period: Royals got a little bit sleepy and let Roblin Park back into the game, letting them score four straight goals! But the Royals were able to regroup and keep their one goal lead till the end of the game winning 6-5. Key points: The Royals have scored six goals twice against Roblin Park Areas For Improvement: Unfortunately they have also given up six goals and five goals in those two games. Royals complete the season sweep against the AW perdators and sixth game in a row!
First Period: Joel opens up the scoring for the Royals assisted by Derrick after an odd bounce off of an AW defenceman. Just over five minutes later Joel scores his second on the night after a pass across from kyle. At just over two minutes before the end of the first AW scores on a point shot on the power to cut the Royals lead down to one after one period of play. Second Period: Devan buries the rebound after a point shot from Matt.Seven minutes later Cody scores after a great powerplay passing set by everyone on the ice for the Royals. Three minute after that Joel completes the hat trick after he capped off another great passing created by himself, Kyle and Jordan to end the second period 5-1. Third Period: The Royals played a very strong puck possession to waste and did it very successfully to win 5-2. Key points: third hat trick obtained by a Royals player this year, the Royals have won 4 straight this year against the AW predators. Three Stars: 1.Joel, 2. Derrick, 3. Kyle
Royals shutout Seven Oaks in possibly the craziest game ever to win five in a row!
First Period:Not to much action until the very en f the first period were kyle buries the rebound assisted by Jordan on the powerplay to put the Royals up 1-0 after the first period. Second Period: No goals in the second period but great penalty killing by the Royals as well as some great body checking. Third Period: Suddenly at the beginning of the third period the Royals caught fire. Joel score two goals the first assisted by Jordan and the second off of a great shot top shelf assisted by Cody P. and Trent. Jordan also scored assisted by Joel to put the Royals up 5-0. The a little bit of chaos when a seven oaks player went after a parent in the bleachers,. Anyways they ran out the time on the clock and the Royals won their fifth game in a row 5-0. Key points: first shutout on the year for the Royals and went 5/5 on the penalty kill.Areas for improvement: Nothing for us but I think the one of the Seven Oaks player needs to improve his anger management.(heyo). Royals improve to 3-0 against AW Predators
First period: Jordan opens up the scoring for the Royals with a great solo effort to get the unassisted goal to put the Royals up 1-0 after one period of play. Second period: The predators storm back by scoring two quick goals to go up 2-1. However the Royals did not back down, First Alex scores of a knuckle shot from the point assisted by Jordan to tie the game, then Joel scores on the powerplay after a pass from Alex to put the Royals up 3-2 after two periods of play. Third Period: AW tie up the game again but at five minutes left to go Derrick battles in slot to force of a great shot and to score the winning goal for the Royals assisted y Blaise to win a close 4-3 game. Key point: only one powerplay goal allowed on 5 powerplays against. Three Stars: Alex, Jordan, Matt

Royals dominate Fort Gary to clinch first place after the first half
Prior to the game the Royals new what was at stake, a win and they would be in first and a lose would put them as low a third place. First Period: Derrick opens up the scoring for the Royals after passes from Joel and Devan. Just after Devan scores assisted by Kyle to go up 2-0 after the first period. Second Period: Jordan scores assisted by Zach to go up 3-0. However Fort Gary answers back with two quick goals to end the second Period 3-2. Third Period: The Royals were on fire in the third period with two goals from Jordan and one from Devan to easy defeat Fort Gary 6-2 and clinch first place after the first half Key Points: he Royals have now scored 13 goals against Fort Gary in 2 games. Royals Win Second Game in a Row against Roblin Park
two weeks ago the Royals played Roblin Park and tied them in a large scoring game, the Royals out played Roblin Park and were disappointed to lose one point because of the tie. First Period: Cody P. breaks in shorthand and buries the rebound after his breakaway to go up 1-0 after a lead pass from Blaise. But on the next face Roblin Park comes back down ad scores on the power play to tie them game up at one goal a piece heading into the second period. Second Period: Cody scores his second goal after cutting in from the corner to the slot, assisted by Jordan. Third Period: Roblin Park ties up the game at 2 after their second power play goal on the game. However, three minutes later Joel scores from in the slot after a pass from the corner by Jordan to go up 3-2. At just over a minute left in the game, Roblin Park player in hauled down on a questionable breakaway and a penalty shot was awarded. But the stop was made my Nick. Roblin Park had one more chance but it was enough to stop the Royals from winning their second game in a row 3-2. Key Points: lowest goals allowed in a game for the Royals this year and lost goals scored in a win this year as well, the Royals goalies are 2 for 2 on penalty shots this year as well. Areas for Improvement: Better penalty kill and not worrying about the refs. Three Stars: 1.Cody P. 2.Nick 3.Joel

Royals win a key game against the Seals to keep their dream of first place alive
This was a game that the Royals were looking forward to the most all first half and and finally got there chance to play the Seals. First Period: The Royals get on the board first after Cody P. scores a bit of a soft goal when he scores on a wrist shot from just outside the blue line after a springing pass from Matt. Two minutes after, the Seals answer back with a rebound goal to keep the game tied at 1-1 going into the second period. Second Period: Joel scores from in the slot to give the Royals lead after passes from Kyle and Jordan, Under a minute after the Seals score again and tie it back up. Two minutes after that the Seals score a breakaway goal to take a 3-2 lead. However Devan dangles to get a great solo effert goal to tie the game at 3 goals a piece. 12 seconds after Jordan scores a great goal assisted by Blaise and Joel scores a shorthanded breakaway goal assisted by Jordan to head into the third period with a 5-3 lead. Third Period: Just under six minutes to go the Seals score and make it a one goal game but Cody P. and the Royals answer right back to stop any moment they had and win the game 6-4. Key Points: Once we were down 3-2 but we never gave up and scored three straight goals in under four minutes. The game could have been 8-4 if the two goals wave off were actually counted. It's A Draw
Last Friday the Royals faced off against one of there rivals from last year Roblin Park (last year they were named Varsity View). Last Year the Royals successfully defeated them in the championship game to win the Gateway Christmas Challange but Roblin Park swept the Royals in the two regular season games last year and one the city championship. First Period: Roblin Park opens up the scoring with a quick shot of the draw, but just after Cody P. scores from the slot assisted by Shane and Derrick to make it a 1-1 hockey game after one period of play. Second Period: Derrick scores a great goal on the power play after a great shot from the point by Connor. Just after that Derrick snipes his second goal after a great pass from Shane. However, Roblin park stromed back and scored three answered goals to end the second period 4-3 in their favor. Third Period: Kyle scores a great breakaway goal after a great lead pass from Jordan. Shortly after Cody scores his second goal on the game in slot assisted by Blaise to go up 5-4. But Roblin Park once again come back with two quick goals to lead the Royals 6-5. Under two minutes to play Jordan scores a great goal from thee slot assisted by Cody to tie the game with a final score of 6-6. Key Points: Only two penilties called against the Royals in this game and was there first tie on the season. Areas For Improvement : Less defencive pinching and less predictable hockey. Three Stars: Cody, Derrick and Kyle
