Royals geet the feling back in a great effort against Il de Chein Elks

Coming into the game the Royals still seemed a little bit overwhelmed on how the end of the first half ended on a sour note. But after some motivational speeches and having a short memory the Royals came to play against the Il de Chein Elks in the first round robin game of the Christmas challenge tournament. First Period: There was no goals scored in the first period for either team but there was lots of great passing hits and saves that got the crowd into it. Areas for improvement: the Royals still need to find that spark in there offence one goal a game is not going to cut it and no lazy passes in our own end. five Stars: 1. Mason 2.Sean 3. Connor 4. Lucas 5. Evan

Royals drop two more in a row to end of the first half but are ready for a bounce back

Some disappointing hockey for the Royals dropping now 3 straight regular season games. scoring only 4 goals and being scored on 19 to drop them into third place in the standings. But the Royals are optimistic, they await a Christmas challenge tournament where they are the defending champions. They will need to beat Varsity View(the first place team) in order to win the championship. But they feel it is the perfect way to get back on track with there winning ways.

Key points: The red line scored the first three royals goals and this is the longest Royals winning streak. Areas for improvement: The defence must put more pressure on the man with the puck behind the net or in the corner in the defencive zone. Or to attack the man after he comes out from the corner instead of watching them score all four of there goals. Also the breakout needs to run smother. Three stars: 1. The entire red line 2. Joel 3. Sean

Royals beat seal 8-7 in OT in a game for the ages

Yes, the royals stay alive for another day against the seals in a thrilling overtime victory 8-7. The Royals showed great resilience with a bounce back game. There were tons of great goals in this game but the one that matter the most was the overtime winner by Lucas also with Kieth scoring four goals showed that the Royals were not going down without a fight. The game starts were Lucas for his OT winner, Keith for his five point night and Kyle P because yes he let in 7 but all of his shots that he faced were top notch and he made some great saves. The royals can still work on the defencive zone and not getting sucked in by the puck but with lots of positive coming out of the game the Royal will move on to face Fort Garry in the B side quarter finals.

Royals lose there first game of the playoof and go down to B Side

The lost on Saturday to Dakota, a team that they have had lots of success this year against was not a factor to Dakota coming off a huge win over fort gary proved to be stonger then the royals. Also the first period obsticle was a problem aswell, with little scoring oprtunities in the first and three goals agianst was not the start they were looking for. But they bounced back in the second and third out shooting and out scoring. No goals were allowed showing that the defence and golaie Nick was able to calm down. For the ofence they were able to net two goals and even a tieing goal twice that were both waved off. Alex will also miss the next game due to a tecnica foul. The royals showing that they can bounce back earlier in the season but can they do it against #1 rank seals. I guess only time will tell.

Royals Win first game of the playoffs and have high hopes

The royals killed the cats in a dominate game all around for the entire team. The game was full of hits, great plays and nice saves. Fantastic efforts were put in by everyone but a few that stood out even a bit more were Lucas, Keenan and Matt. The royals work hard and what paid off was the fact that park city got into penalty troubles. The royals could still work on keeping two hands on the stick and better positioning says Tanner. The royals will be playing Dakota in there next game . Dakota is a team that has yet to win against the Royals. The royals hope to keep it this way so them get into the semi finals were they shall play either St. Norbert or Garden City. That is all for the royals report.

Royals lose and hope to pick it up for the playoffs

The royals lost 4-1 to St.Norbert. St. Norbert played a well executed offence scoring on four of thirty two shots and played great on defence holding the royals to only seventeen shots. Great efforts were put in by Kyle K. scoring the only goal of the game, Matt for going after guys that are twice his height and Nick with some key saves early on. Areas for improvement are defiantly more shots on net,  more pressure on the man carrying the puck , watching the men in front of the net and rebound control. With this lose the royals will not get the bye but will play the last place team in the first round of the playoffs. We do not know how that his yet but we shall keep you posted.

Royals win 4-2 against HV and get closer to second place finish

The royals played a hard and well fought game. They killed seven penalties and scored on two of there five power plays.  There were lots of hits especially coming from, Keenan, Connor, Keith and Evan. The roylas also continued from last game scoring the first goal in under four minutes and Lucas scoring a hat trick. On the defence side both goalie and defence need to still find some consistency and if they can do that they have a fantastic shot at winning the cities. The royals next game is tomorrow against westdale a team that they have only played once this year. The royals need to win this game and the next against St. Norbert to clinch second place and the bye in the first round

royals lose two in a row

Yes it is true the royals lose two in a row and this game was against Fort Gary a team right behind the Royals in the standings for second place. This game was another fact of running out of steam. The royals were up 1-0 after 2 period of play and let in three unanswered goals and an empty netter. A solid effort was put by Derrick scoring the only goal. The royals know that they need to improve on scoring, hitting the net and fast breaks down the ice which all resulted in a hard team lose. The Royals play the wild cats next a team that they have had lots of success against this year and hope to get back on the winning track. That is all for the Royals post game report.
