Royals get a hard fought win against Ravenscourt Eagles

Earlier this year the Royals faced the Eagles and one a close game 1-0. The Royals were disappointed in the lack of goals due to the great offence pressure created and they wanted more for this game especially. First period: Once again there were no goals in the first but some solid hits were coming from both teams, even one sandwich hit! Second Period: Kyle opened up the scoring with a great play set up by the red line, assisted by Jordan and Zach. Under a minute after that the Eagles respond with a rocket from just inside the blue line to tie up the game. On the ensuing face off Jordan gets the puck and goes end to end assisted by Sean to regain the lead. Third Period: Derrick increases the lead with a snipe top shelve unassisted on the power play. Two minutes later the Eagles cut the lead down to one when there player skates from the corner to slot and finds the back of the net. Shortly after that Kyle gets his second of the night with a one timer on the door step assisted by Jordan and Zach to regain the two goal lead. Just over two minutes remaining the eagles capitalize off a series of bad clearing attempts to make it a one goal game. The Eagles pull there goalie but the Royals would fight them of to win there fifth game in a row 4-3. Key Points: Most goals allowed by Royals this year and the red line gathered 7 points collectively. Areas for improvement: Must be able to breakout with out defencive panic and giving the puck away to the other team (last two goals scored against the Royals were because of this). Three stars: 1. Kyle 2. Jordan and Zach 3. Derrick
